The Best Field Trip in the World!!! Not Kidding!!!!

This is seriously the best field trip in the world! Last week all the 5th graders at Em's school went to AmeriTowne. It's a miniture town that the kids run for the day. They elect a mayor and judge, make "laws" to be followed, they have mail service, a working bank, get a "paycheck", put it in the bank, learn how to record in a checkbook, they are taught to donate money and spend it wisely, and there's even more they do but I don't want to bore anyone. Everyone has a job and it ends up being a day they never forget. Cal went 2 years ago when he was in 5th grade and remembers the trip very well. Em decided to take on a job as a cashier at "The Market". We were all surprised that she would choose such an easy job but I'm sure she just wanted to go and have fun without too much work. Really? I don't blame her one bit. All the kids were sad when the day was over. We are so fortunate that our school plans this field trip. There are several schools in our district that are still on the waiting list for a date. I'm really glad Em had this experience!
